3 things to know for January 9: Basketball Wins, Jr. High Wrestling, Sobota Visits

1. Basketball Wins

Derry Area (5-5; 1-2) defeated Apollo-Ridge 67-50 on the road to earn a Section 3 3A win led by Nate Papuga’s 18 points. JV also got a win 37-29. 

2. Jr. High Wrestling Represents

The Derry Area Jr, High Wrestling team placed 2nd out of 18 teams at the Southmoreland Tournament this past weekend. First place winners included Rocco DeCario, Mason Horwat, and Brady Brown.

3. Sobota Visits

Former Derry graduate, Morgan Sobota, will be here on Tuesday, Jan 10, during homeroom to do a presentation on the Corps of Cadets at Virginia Tech, a military component of the student body at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
