1. Fun Day

Tomorrow, May 5th, will be an exciting day for the high school! Josh Horner will be visiting us in the morning to give an inspirational message. The Kona Ice truck will be available to complement your school lunch. We will have various outside activities for you to enjoy the rest of the day. The good news is that it looks like it is going to be a beautiful sunny & warm day! Bring your sunscreen and be prepared to be out in the warm sun for most of the day!

Don’t forget to buy your tickets for a chance win an opportunity to pie your favorite teacher or administrator in the face!!!!!! The tickets will be sold in E307 Mrs. Prato’s room before the start of 1st period and during homeroom. Each ticket costs just a quarter and can be purchased during the fair.

2. Baseball Clinches Playoffs

Michael Cahill tossed a two hitter and struck out seven in going the distance to lead East Allegheny to an 8-2 section title win over the Derry Area Trojans Tuesday afternoon at Grandview Field. It’s their first title since 1999.

The Trojans clinched a playoff spot for the second consecutive season despite the loss.

DA now (8-4) overall and (5-3) in section play will play a two game section finale series with Ligonier Valley next Monday and Tuesday. Come out and support your Trojan basbeall team for the home game on Monday at 4:00!

3. Volleyball Loses

Derry lost to Plum 3-0 in volleyball last evening.  Scores were 17-25, 19-25, 15-25.  Nick Allison had 8 kills. Matt Rhoades had 18 assists.

Derry JV won 2-0. Scores 25-14, 25-20.  Cam McNichol had 6 kills, 6 digs and 3 aces to lead Derry.  Mason Beeman added 3 kills and 2 blocks.  Johnathan Shumaker had 16 assists.
