3 things to know for March 24: Dress Code, FFA Auction, Prom Info

1. Dress Code

The following are specifics to the Dress Code for Derry Area School District:

Section I. General

  1.       Excessively cut, torn or excessively ripped clothing is not permitted.
  2.       Spandex or skintight outfits of any type or material are not permitted unless an accompanying top covers the hips, buttocks and cleavage in an appropriate manner.
  1.       Excessively baggy pants or clothing that can conceal items and/or pose a safety hazard are not permitted.
  1.       Undergarments should not be exposed in any way.
  2.     Coats, jackets or garments designed for protecting from the outside weather are not to be worn in school.

Section II. Tops

  1.       Tops may not be “low cut” or exposing. Bare midriffs, bare backs, and bare shoulders are not permitted.
  2.       Sleeveless tops and dresses are permitted, however, the following are unacceptable school attire:
  3.       Spaghetti Strap/Halter/Mesh Tops
  4.       See-through blouses or shirts
  5.         Tube Tops/Crop Tops
  6.       Attire with excessively large armhole
  7.       Any top that is skin tight or allows the midriff, cleavage or undergarments to be exposed is not permitted.

2. FFA Auction

Tonight is the FFA Auction in the HS Cafeteria. Doors open at 5:00; Auction starts at 6:00. It should last until about 8:00 PM.

3. Prom Information

Attention students who will be attending the Prom on April 29th at Chestnut Ridge, Prom tickets will be sold from April 4th-8th during Homeroom in Mrs. Bushey’s room, F312. April 8th is the last day to buy tickets. The cost of the prom is $40 a person or $80 a couple.

Also, for those students who completed the information and forms packet for Prom, the form for table selection for dinner is available outside of Mrs. Bushey or Mrs .Markle’s rooms. Please pick up a form for your group of 10, only one form is needed per table and tables can only seat up to 10 people.
