1. Lockers

All gym lockers and team lockers must be cleaned out and locks removed for the annual mid-year disinfection of the locker rooms. Items left in lockers will be disposed of and locks will be cut. Again, this is ALL gym lockers and team room lockers.

2. Food Pantry

If you’d like to volunteer for the January 19th Food Pantry, please sign up outside of Ms. Smolleck’s room. This is a great opportunity to serve your community and earn community service hours. Space is limited, so hurry!

3. Lady Trojans fall, 32-50

Trailing by only 3 points after three quarters the Derry Lady Trojans were in a real battle with undefeated Highlands. Highlands broke loose in the 4th quarter for an 18-3 advantage and took a 50-32 victory over the Lady Trojans. Tiana Moracco led all scorers with 23 points.

TODAY’S NUMBER: 500,000,000

(CNN) – President Joe Biden will announce Tuesday a purchase of a half-billion at-home rapid Covid-19 tests and a plan to distribute them free to Americans who request them through a website, one of a series of new steps he’ll unveil as the country faces a potentially crippling wintertime surge of infections.

The 500 million new tests will be made available next month and will reach Americans through the mail, the official said. The administration is still working to determine how many tests each household may request.

AND FINALLY…

After Tuesday’s games, the NHL will shut down through Christmas as COVID-19 cases continue to rise and more games were being postponed, the league announced Monday evening.

The Penguins were supposed to host the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night. That game will be moved to a later date.
