3 things to know for December 13: Senior Section, KIND Closet, Basketball Results
1. Senior Section
Seniors – Please complete the Yearbook Senior Section Information Google Form that Mrs. Battaglia emailed to all of you. It is due THIS Friday, December 17th.
2. KIND Closet
The KIND Closet needs volunteers this week (December 14-16) from 3:oo – 6:00. This is a great community service opportunity and a way to give back to your community this holiday season. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Smolleck.
3. Basketball Results
The Derry Area Lady Trojans got out of the gate quickly in the first quarter Friday night outscoring Jeannette 19-6. They added to that lead steadily as the game progressed finishing with a 47-12 victory. Tiana Moracco led the way with 27 points followed by Faith Shean with 10. On Saturday, the Lady Trojans led at halftime 22-18 but Monessen used a 19-10 advantage in the third quarter to outlast Derry Area 50-41. Derry’s Tiana Moracco led all scorers with 21 points while Faith Shean added 9.
Tyson Webb & Nate Papuga led the Trojans with 12 points each and Brady Angus posted 10 as the Trojans fell to an overpowering Kiski Area Friday night 81-45. On Saturday night, the Trojans defense turned it up a few notches holding Homer-Center to single digits in each quarter. Derry Area posted a 52-23 win in the Burrell Tip-Off Classic. Ashton Beighley, Ethan Frye, Ahmad Ward and Colin Bush contributed valuable minutes as seven players reached the scoring column. All-Tournament selection Tyson Webb led DA with 15 points, 8 rebounds & 6 steals. Nate Papuga netted 12 points.

In Kentucky alone, the death toll is at least 80 and will exceed 100, making it the deadliest tornado event in the state’s history.
