Steelers Playoff Hopes

Playoff hopes are still alive, but like the team, they are fading.

After the Steelers blow-out loss to the Bengals this Sunday, the Steelers are looking at a 5-5-1 record while being in last place in their division, again. If the Steelers are still looking at playoffs, changes will most likely be made.

Considering that they got beat on both sides of the ball, the Steelers had a fully healthy defense this game. It is hard for a good defense to hold up when the offence goes 3 and out; it tires out the defense.

What hurt the Steelers was definitely Joe Mixon, the running back for the Bengals, who had 165 yards on 28 carries, and 2 touchdowns. On the other side, the Steelers’ running game looked nothing like the Bengals, with a total of 51 yards and Najee Harris rushing for only 23 yards.

This is now 3 straight weeks without a win for the Steelers. If the Steelers would have been able to beat the Lions and the Chargers, the Steelers would have a shot at number 1 in the division. Now, they are stuck in last place following the loss to the Bengals.

Also heading into week 13, the Steelers will be without T.J. Watt again due to him being placed on the COVID list.

The Steelers continue to get opportunity after opportunity to have a wildcard spot or even go ahead in the division, but they are starting to completely blow it. Hopes are very much still alive, but they have to start winning and their schedule does not get any easier.
