Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro Pledges to Embrace Clean Energy
Governor Josh Shapiro has allocated a substantial amount of $4.6 million towards expanding PMF Industries into the burgeoning clean hydrogen energy sector.
Governor Josh Shapiro has recently unveiled a significant investment of $4.6 million in clean energy, as reported by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
The investment will specifically support PMF Industries, a Pennsylvania company with a 63-year history, in its expansion into the clean hydrogen market. With a project worth $7 million, this initiative is expected to generate 20 new full-time jobs and retain 78 positions, thereby bolstering Pennsylvania’s clean energy sector.
PMF Industries plans to construct a 16,000-square-foot extension at its Williamsport location. The purpose of this addition is to accommodate new equipment for the production of metallic liners. These liners are crucial for safely storing and transporting hydrogen. This expansion project is in line with Governor Shapiro’s dedication to promoting clean energy manufacturing and fostering economic growth throughout the state.
“Pennsylvania is renowned as the prime destination for businesses seeking to flourish and prosper. With unwavering dedication, my Administration is determined to make strategic investments that bolster our vital industries and forge pathways to lucrative employment opportunities,” remarked Shapiro.
PMF Industries received a $4.5 million PIDA loan, a $138,000 Pennsylvania First grant, and $11,000 for workforce training through WEDnetPA from the state’s Department of Community and Economic Development.
PMF President John Perrotto commended the Shapiro Administration for their unwavering dedication to assisting small and mid-sized businesses.
Pennsylvania’s position as a national pioneer in innovation and sustainability is highlighted by the administration’s emphasis on clean energy and manufacturing.
