1. Ads for Grads

Ads for Grads order forms were mailed home at the beginning of October. Remind your parents they are due by November 18. Extra order forms are outside of Mrs. Bushey’s room.

2. KIND Closet

If you need community service hours, see Ms. Smolleck to work in the KIND Closet from 2:55 – 3:55 on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of next week.

3. Cross County Results

The Derry Area Cross Country teams competed at the Tri State Track Coaches Association Championships at California University of Pennsylvania. The girls finished 7th out of 26 teams, improving 4 places from an 11th place finish last season. Jane Huss led the girls with a 20th place finish in 22:07. Tessa Hayes followed in 51st in 23:57, Gianna Gruska 56th in 24:11, Rain Loucks 58th in 24:19, Ashley Baker 92nd in 25:37 all setting huge personal best times on the Cal U course. Sophia Doherty took 114th out of the 186 person field in 27:06, her first time running the course.

Charlie Banks led the boys in 19:38. Sophomore Logan Corbett ran the best race of his career in 20:21. Seth Swisher took over 3 minutes off of his time on the same course from 7 weeks ago in 21:27. Gabe Gess finished in 24:31. Freshman Sawyer Newhouse ran a course PR in 25:29.

The Cross Country teams will compete next at WPIAL Finals on Thursday October 7th again at Cal U.
