Police called to home after relatives living there for 6 months discover dead body inside

Michael Bebout, a resident of Canton Township, was tragically discovered deceased in his bed last Thursday. Authorities from Washington County made the heartbreaking discovery inside a hoarder house that was infested with animal feces. The police were alerted by concerned loved ones, prompting an investigation led by Greene County Regional Police Chief William DeForte.

According to Chief William DeForte of the Greene County Regional Police, the man had been deceased for a period of six months.

According to DeForte, when the officer arrived at the scene, he was met by the distressed brother of the deceased. The brother informed the officer that he had spent the previous night there and had discovered his brother’s lifeless body upon waking up.

According to the chief, Bebout’s body suggests that he had been dead for approximately six months.

Beabout stated that the floor of his brother and sister-in-law’s home was covered in dog feces, and there were piles of trash scattered around.

“The exterior may have appeared unassuming,” DeForte expressed, “but once inside, the space was cluttered with garbage and waste, and the floors were completely covered in dog feces. Needless to say, the unpleasant odors were overwhelming.”

According to him, the couple has been primarily residing in the filthy house, despite their somewhat transient lifestyle.

The death occurred in a seemingly ordinary home in Canton Township, but the interior told a different tale.

According to DeForte, authorities are not convinced by the loved ones’ claim that they were unaware of their relative’s death since the summer.

Authorities are currently investigating the finances of the deceased man, Bebout, to determine if any checks made out to him were illegally cashed after his death. While foul play is not suspected, the investigation is ongoing.
