3 things to know for May 10: Baseball Wins, Volleyball Loses, Girls Sports
1. Baseball Beats LV
For the Trojan baseball team who recently qualified for the postseason, the scenarios were pretty cut and dry. Win one of two over section foe Ligonier Valley and clinch a second-place finish in the conference.
Derry Area used solid defense and timely pitching to comeback from a 2-0 deficit to get the clinching win 5-2 over the Rams Monday afternoon at Grandview Field.
DA now (10-4) (6-3) will wrap up section play at Ligonier tomorrow. Game time is 3:30.
2. Volleyball Loses
Derry lost 3-0 to Bishop Guilfoyle in boys’ volleyball action. Scores were 16-25, 25-27, & 17-25. Nick Allison had 7 kills, Cam McNichol 5 kills and Noah Berkhimer 5 kills.
3. Girls Sports
Any current 9th, 10th, or 11th grade student that has an interest in playing Varsity Girls Soccer or Varsity Girls Wrestling, please sign up in the office.
