1. Derry Area Represents at Slippery Rock

If you follow high school track and field, you might’ve noticed that the Butler Invitational received the majority of the coverage from local papers and social media. However, the two-day event wasn’t the only invitational on this side of Pennsylvania that featured some of the best in the state.

2. Summer PFEW Program

Attention all Juniors:  A representative from Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week will discuss the program on Wednesday this week during Homeroom in Mr. Tatone’s classroom, F 316.

If you are a Junior, and interested in the summer PFEW program opportunity, please sign up with Mr. Tatone by Wednesday this week.  Free Enterprise Week is a week-long, state-wide camp in which business skills are emphasized and practiced.

3. Senior Speaker

Please check the Class of 2022 Google Classroom for a new announcement. As it is time to select your teacher speaker for this year.

Just like last year, your selected teacher will speak during the senior breakfast.

Please cast your vote before Wednesday end of the day.

In Softball action, Sophia Doherty drove in six runs, but it wasn’t enough as Derry Trojans Varsity fell to Valley HS 12-8.  Doherty drove in runs on a home run in the third and a home run in the seventh.

On the boys’ side, Senior Jake Watson pitched two scoreless innings and sophomore Colin Bush closed the door as the Trojan baseball team erased an early deficit to win game one of the Homer Center Classic baseball tournament on Saturday with a 12-3 victory over the host Wildcats.  Ashton Beighley was the only Trojan who finished with two hits while Ryan Hood and Nick Thomas each scored twice.
