Zelensky vows to take measures against ‘traitors’
In his daily address, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukrainian authorities had taken action against individuals he referred to as “traitors.”
Ukrainian President Zelensky praised the performance of the country’s law enforcement agencies, including the Security Service of Ukraine, the State Bureau of Investigation, the National Police, and the Prosecutor’s Office. According to him, these agencies have done an excellent job in their respective roles.
“We are actively countering traitors and various schemes that have weakened our state and Ukrainian society. It is crucial for anyone who opposes Ukraine or defies its laws to understand that they will face a strong response.”
The president remained tight-lipped about the specifics of the actions taken.
Throughout the day, Ukraine’s SBU intelligence agency and the public prosecutor’s office made an unusually high number of announcements regarding the apprehension of individuals suspected of collaborating with and acting as agents for Russia. However, the veracity of these statements could not be confirmed independently.
The SBU recently announced the arrest of a department head at a state-owned bank. According to reports, the bank manager was allegedly involved in providing financing for Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Max Nazarov, a TV presenter known for his opposition-leaning views, was apprehended on charges of allegedly justifying Russia’s initiation of the conflict.
A recent report also highlighted the discovery of a spy network allegedly operated by the Russian domestic intelligence service FSB. According to the report, the group was believed to be operating in both Kiev, the capital city, and Kharkiv, located in eastern Ukraine. However, it is important to note that these claims have not been independently verified.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the secret service has recently uncovered a company that is believed to have assisted Russia in constructing a laboratory dedicated to the development of nuclear weapons. It is worth noting that Russia is a nuclear power with a significant arsenal of nuclear weapons. In response, Russia has accused Ukraine of actively pursuing the acquisition of weapons of mass destruction.
